The Story:

As you walk past billboards, TVs playing advertisements, use products with bright logos on display, listen to news radio and read corporate reports, if you’re not paying attention, it might be easily to overlook the fact that every person and every medium that is communicating to you, is attempting to change your beliefs, to alter your perception in subtle ways , that somehow work in their favour. Coca-Cola Amatil wants you to identify as a beach-ball-rolling Coca-Cola man, Pepsi wants you to believe that it passed the Pepsi challenge, and your own government wants you to identify as a patriotic citizen, and to believe that its enemies are raping, bestial monsters.

If everyone dropped their defences completely, letting this propaganda in without question, the world would end up a boring place, with people, instead of being sovereign, independent-thinking individuals, instead resembling pinballs moving around the board, bouncing off bumpers and repeatedly hitting pretty lights. People would adopt the words “Obey” and “Consume” as their personal mantras. Some parts of the world are getting dangerously close to this dystopia – but fortunately, we have the Internet to make people aware of the potential diversity of lifestyles, beliefs and opinions.

How can we recognise the more insidious forms of propaganda? What are the principles which advertisers and speech writers can use to bury their thoughts in our brains, making us believe that they are our own? And what are the costs if we are not vigilant enough? We explore these questions and more, in this mind-penetrating episode of … The Paradise Paradox!

The Story:

Bitcoin has now been around since 2009, so far it has proven itself as a viable form of money, as well as a stand alone financial ecosystem for transferring value. However, as Bitcoin is growing in transaction volume, this next quarter might have its challenges and many have mixed ideas about the future of this new technology. Experts have been divided over the key issue – to increase the block size or not. Along with this long running block size debate, Bitcoin will soon reach another critical milestone – the next reduction in mining reward (bitcoin halving). Here we have what might cause to the additional growth of backlogged bitcoin transactions and a reduction in Bitcoin processing power.

In this episode Kurt and Aaron discuss their thoughts on these uncertainties and upcoming events of Bitcoin. For anyone invested in Bitcoin or interested in getting involved, its time to get serious about your crypto strategy. We all have a paradise of research ahead… Join us in a portfolio shaking and fingernail biting episode of The Paradise Paradox!

The Story:

There is an increasing number of people on the Internet discussing the hypothesis that people have been deceived about the shape of the earth. The rate that people have been googling the term “flat earth” has been steadily increasing since January 2015, and took a huge jump in January 2016. It’s unusual to think that people can become so obsessed about something which, at least on the surface, has such little influence on their lives. This seems to demonstrate a couple of things: 1. in the information age, people are curious, and 2. people do not like being deceived, or having the feeling that they might be deceived.

A common question when this subject is raised is, why would someone even want to do such a thing? Why would someone want to deceive the world in such a way that seems so pointless and so abstract, so far away from the everyday lives of regular people? There are actually several reasons. The first is bureaucracy – if a national space administration of a large government were to lie, saying that they’d explored outer space, and in doing so, confirmed that the earth were a certain shape, they would have to continue to uphold that lie almost no matter what, in an attempt to continue their funding and justify their own positions. A second explanation is that powerful people want to control the symbols and the lenses with which we view the world, because, through that method, they can continue to manipulate our perspective of the world. Another explanation is that powerful, perhaps psychopathic people, have ends which are unfathomable to normal, empathetic people, because their concept of what the world should look like is so far removed from our own conception.

In this episode, I encourage you to join me in donning a tin-foil hat and imagining a world that has been manipulated into believing a lie about the shape of their earth. What might the world look like? Why would they do it? How would they do it? And why is it important that you keep wondering? The Story:

In this episode Aaron speaks about his thoughts on the feeling of success and the importance of feeling completely yourself. Aaron explains how to appreciate – how special your personal perspective is, and how special it is to accept your uniqueness. Other ideas such personal inspiration, life purpose, and how we are here to have fun – are also touched on. He also shares a few personal thoughts on navigating feelings and insight into his secret knowledge. So for the meantime take it easy and don’t over think things. Put your feet up, relax and remember that everything is exactly as it needs to be – at least for the moment.
Secret 1.
Success is a life style choice, it is your personal journey, your personal satisfaction is the key to living a complete successful life.
Secret 2.
Everyone is already 100% successful based on the limits of their reality – as they are the only one being/ playing their unique experience. Nobody can ever be as successful as someone else in entirety. A version of life success is not and can never be duplicated.
Secret 3.
To be successful in life, one must be successful in the moment. Success is a living universe and to be successful completely – one must realise that there is only one living your life.
Secret 4.
Success is living your life free from expectations.  This allows one to be their experience to full capacity and allowing all possible possibility, without being fooled into thinking that you should be something else.
Secret 5.
Having fixed expectations will set yourself up for failure. Expecting a certain outcome will open the opportunity for one to feel unsatisfied with what the universe delivers one self. There is a balance to find – concerning goals and desired outcomes without being attached to the results.

Episode 101 – Choose Liberty, or Choose Domination

Right click and press save as to download the audio.

What do you value? What’s important to you in life? I can name a few things that are important to me: liberty, peace, respect, human rights. Some people don’t value those things, or at least, they’re lower down on their list of values. Instead they value things like certainty, convenience, and even feeling good, and their own ignorance.

Now a lot of people will say that they value liberty, but once you get into it a little more closely, you can see it’s not quite so true. So let me as k you: did you ever value liberty enough to say “Free Irwin Schiff”, a man who was in prison because of his belief in property rights – his belief that his money and other people’s money, shouldn’t be taken from them by force, and used as collateral to fund central banks, and fund expansive, endless wars.

Did you ever value liberty enough to say – at least just say the words – “Free Ross Ulbricht” – a man who provided a service for hundreds of thousands of people, a man who provided a service that was very much in demand, the service of allowing people to buy and sell drugs on the Internet.

The thing is, if you value certainty over liberty, then you must either value your ignorance, pretending that humans rights abuses don’t happen, because of institutions such as taxation – or, you must value the certainty that human rights abuses are going to happen, because that’s exactly what does happen, when you give people the power to rule over others.

Liberty is dirty; you don’t get any guarantees in liberty. Sometimes liberty is even violent. But you know, liberty also gives you personal responsibility – that’s the thing. That’s the great lie; that’s the great trick. Because what they’ve told you is, by giving up some of your liberty, you’re actually going to limit your personal responsibility, which is something that can never, ever be true. Nobody can ever take that power from you – nobody can ever take the fact that you are captain of your own soul, that you are architect of your own destiny. And any responsibility that you have, for the rest of humanity, can never be delegated to someone else. It cannot.

Whether you choose the certainty of domination, the certainty of people abusing their power, or you choose liberty – that beautiful chaos, that beautiful space that allows the human race to transform, to transcend, to create something new and different – whatever you choose, I advise you to choose. Because people may call you many things. They may call you delusional, a pinko, an idealist, a fool, a warmonger, a violent sociopath. They might even call you a freedom fighter. But, as long as you choose, they will never call you the worst of all insults. They will never call you wishy-washy, they will never call you vague, and they will never call you indecisive.

The Story:

In this episode Kurt and Aaron are discussing an ‘Anarchapulco nights’ experience, where Aaron had his mind blown. He recounts a conversation with fellow Anarchapulco attendee ‘Pitstop’. The conversation was based on ideas of capitalist vs communist – not so much in which one is better, but rather, which aspects could be used to create a better world. During this conversation Aaron’s perspective was shifted – now, a changed man.

Taking a look at this wider world, it is not difficult to see that much of it is upside down. Where vaccines cause illness, the law protects the guilty, government does not represent the collective public and politicians are financed puppets. Our world of capitalism appears to be nothing more than a brand of consumerism, greed and corruption. True capitalism has been taken away and hidden far from the naive and drugged first world. Has the wool has been pulled over our eyes? Or have our eyes been removed – somewhat like the beaks of mass produced chickens?

The Story:

In this episode kurt brings to our attention to what appears to be a break up over a messenger chat. The screen shot was captured and uploaded as a Facebook status. Kurt and Aaron enjoy the role play then discuss their thoughts on what is actually happening here.

There are super heroes amongst us, however for most people relationships can be daunting, intimidating and confusing. At any stage of relations people can find themselves caught up and emotional charged. The world is about to end – a text message wasn’t answered, the un-answered phone call, or returning to 12 missed calls. These are examples of the land mines of the dating game.

We visit the theme of personal perspectives, where everyone must be accountable for how we choose to interact in this world, Saagar put it, “You don’t see the world as it is, you see it, as you are.” Personal growth is the never ending story and closing this gap is a life-time of serious work. So to get a quick fix of higher knowledge, butter the popcorn and put down the Rubik’s cube, here is another mind expanding episode of The Paradise Paradox!!!

The Story:

Everyone has had the experience of having a sock go mysteriously missing, apparently without a trace. You can open up the lint trap, search behind the washing machine, and turn it upside down, but there is nothing to be found. Is it just a case of a misplaced sock, or is there something stranger at play?

Some people have also reported unusual appearances of objects. An innocuous towel carefully folded on the stair. A USB stick with documents pertaining to a foreign company, arriving on the desk in the middle of the day. And of course, socks spontaneously reappearing at precise intervals, coming out of the wash as if they’d never left.

Are there people breaking into homes and inserting objects just to make life interesting? Are there 6th dimensional wormholes opening up in the spin cycle? Is our universe a simulation with glitches that only affect unattended items of clothing moving in a clockwise direction at greater than 20km/h? We ask these questions and more, in the next sock-disintegrating episode of … The Paradise Paradox!

The Story:

In this episode Kurt and Aaron are talking about their recent personal events since leaving Anarchapulco, the largest Anarchist-Capitalist conference in Acapulco, Mexico. On the return trip home from the conference, Kurt was involved in a serious bus accident, where his bus collided with a semitrailer. On impact Kurt’s forehead was split on the seat in front and he awoke to gashing blood from his head. Thinking that this could be the end, Kurt was able to remain calm by controlling his breathing and acted smart by attending to his head wound – these factors saved his life. Kurt has since returned to Guadalajara and is safe and sound.

Meanwhile Aaron has found himself in New Jersey where he is visiting family, all due to a visa mishap. As Australians, both Aaron and Kurt have the luxury of easy travel, worry free boarder crossing and confident visa applications – that is if a visa is required at all. With an Australian passport one has access to 138 countries with no visa required and has a power rank of 9 on the passport index. However, Aaron’s wife has a Mexican passport, which ranks 22 in comparison – Joanna will need a visa to travel via the USA and a visa to enter Australia. Considering visas are compulsory, expensive and time consuming, it appears that perhaps not all people are born equal, whereas Australians live young and free.

The Story:

Many ancient cultures attempted to design agricultural systems based around the natural strengths and needs of plants. For example, the Iroquois always grew the “Three Sisters” together – beans, corn and squash. The corn provides a natural pole, enabling the bean vines to grow higher. The bean plants release nitrogen into the soil, allowing the growth of the following year’s corn crop. The squash vines act as a living mulch, maintaining the moisture in the earth.

Today, it’s common to see farms where plants are grown in monoculture, all in lines of the same plant together. It looks very well-organised, but without the right kind of chaos, or the right kind of interplay between different plants and animals, the soil soon becomes infertile, and so farmers are constantly playing a game of catch-up with the land they struggled so hard to tame.

In this interview, Kurt talks with Kenny Palurintano about how various types of plants and animals can work together to create a sustainable garden, and even self-sustaining gardens, providing enough for humans and for other beings on this planet. Kenny mentions other indigenous cultures carefully selected the crops that they placed together, to increase their harmony. By using food forests modelled on natural systems, we can create something which provides an outstanding level of abundance. We also talk about some of Kenny’s adventures, travelling around the US by hitchhiking, and how he subtly plants the seeds of liberty into the minds of people he meets.
