Dating advice for men from a professional: Chris Manak – Episode 122

The Story: An interview with dating industry expert, Chris Manak

For many boys becoming men and men becoming confused, the dating scene still remains something of a mystery. Many men go out to clubs, with the hopes of meeting women, but are unsure of how to introduce themselves, how to make conversation, to flirt, to charm a woman, and perhaps more importantly, how to overcome obstacles, and maintain a positive state in the face of rejection. Even men who, to their friends, seem confident, attractive, and successful, may still be confronted with an array of problems in this area of their lives.

For these reasons, it’s becoming more and more common for men to seek the advice of a professional, a dating coach who can give them advice on how to express themselves authentically, how to be confident, and how to be resilient when challenges present themselves.

In this episode, Kurt interviews Chris Manak, life coach, motivator, personal development expert and dating coach. Chris sees the act of meeting people as a kind of therapy, where his clients’ insecurities are quickly brought to light and can be addressed. Every concept of “I’m not good enough” and every spectre of your ex-girlfriend can immediately be exposed, and so begins the path to healing. We discussed how Chris’s humble beginnings, learning slowly how to meet women, how his friends eventually wanted to learn from him, and the dark side of the game, where people can get lost, running from their past. We also discussed the stigma surrounding personal development, and how that might change in the future.

A game you have to invent, to win – a clip from Episode 121

For those of you who are too busy to watch an hour long interview, we decided to take out some of the best bits for you to enjoy.

In this clip, Andrew Levine (a.k.a. @andrarchy) describes some important concepts relating to his idea of a massively multiplayer OFFline game. It’s a kind of roleplaying game, with a limited set of rules, which the participants may change as they go along. The players decide what the prize is, and what one must do to achieve it. Andrew also explains how roleplaying games like this enable us to indulge in impulses, such as dishonest, which we couldn’t necessarily get away with in our regular lives, and finally he mentions how cryptocurrency and Steemit make these kinds of ambitious projects possible.

Indiana Jones in real life, the game: Interview with Andrew “@andrarchy” Levine – Episode 121

The Story: A massively multiplayer offline role-playing game

You might have heard people say occasionally that “life is a game”, or even that you can choose your own game in life – some people choose to accumulate more money, to get a better credit score, some choose to bring happiness to others wherever they can, to make beautiful things, to seek enlightenment. There are many ways to play this game, but with the way certain people act, it seems that they’re not aware it’s a game. It’s a wild ride, and people seem to not be aware that it’s only a ride.

What if we could somehow make it explicit that we are playing a game, and create goals and rewards as we go along? What if making the game explicit allowed us to step outside of ourselves – maybe give ourselves permission to do things that we wouldn’t normally? What would we gain from that? How would it change our perspective – making us feel more fulfilled, content in the knowledge that we, in many respects, have nothing to lose by playing?

In this episode, Kurt interviews Andrew Levine (a.k.a. @andrarchy) and finds out some of his ideas on how we can gameify reality, and gameify our lives, giving us that vital perspective, and allowing us to discover other parts of ourselves in a safe environment. Andrew calls his idea “Indiana Jones in real life” – running around the world, trying to find different artefacts, and at the same time constructing the rules of the game, and perhaps formulating puzzles for other players to solve.

Trackback: We Love Your Comments – Episode 120

As we went through our posts and videos from the last month, we read many interesting comments and questions, so we wanted to give these valuable commentaries a platform. This is an ongoing conversation between us and you, so we can learn and grow together.

These highlights from previous episodes include; whether it’s good or bad to bring a child into the world today, what drugs or shamanic medicines peyote is possibly similar to – if any, Colombia being about much more than beautiful women and drugs, reading or not reading the Communist Manifesto, and the debate on whether Steemit is a valuable social media platform, or just a carefully obfuscated Ponzi scheme.

To comment – is to be involved, we are The Paradise Paradox!

Peyote Spaceship: Contact With An Alien Intelligence – Part 2 – Episode 119

The Story – Contact With An Alien Intelligence – Part 2:

In this episode we discuss an event which Kurt experienced while on The Paradise Paradox desert-peyote adventure. This event may be considered as ‘contact’ – where Kurt describes a communication with an alien intelligence.

Here we have part 2 of a 2 part episode, If you haven’t already, click here to check out part 1 – where we discuss several important ideas to think about when considering that we may not be alone in this universe.

Returning to early communication methods, almost seems silly. However, a European on a hill doesn’t expect communication from a foreign race to come from a smoke signal. Radio waves could be equally unexpected to an extraterrestrial civilisation. And a lost human in the desert doesn’t expect communication from alien life to come from manipulation of light, or manipulation of time. But, perhaps, this is exactly how interdimensional life would need to communication, via manipulation of energy with no shared material, then of course we must consider communication through hallucinations caused by psychedelic medicine.

Kurt opens himself to a conversation with an alien intelligence, where he was able to exchange and share some very interesting thoughts. At this stage we know very little about the beings on the overside, however, we do know that it has been considered extremely significant. Enough that Kurt was gifted out of appreciation for his intention. Just for the act of trying, Kurt received a thank you and feelings of gratitude were expressed for the communication attempt. Although it seemed trivial, at the time (well not exactly) – this is something that had the power to alter past experiences and and potentially paths of time. Something happened out there, that completely exists outside this reality, so much so that what appears to be a moment from one perspective, could also be perceived as an eternity.

Clear the schedule and get out the to do list – this is a true account from The Paradise Paradox peyote diary.

Peyote Desert Crop Circle – An extraterrestrial message?

Out in the middle of the desert in San Luis Potosí, the real desert, about as desert as it can possibly get, there is a small group of travellers taking shamanic medicine. They all have some unusual experiences through the night, apparently talking to spirits and even extraterrestrials, and when they wake up, they notice something is different. There is a group of concentric stone circles just ten metres away from the campsite, appearing almost like a miniature of an Aztec city. In the middle of the circles, a curious symbol.

Did the stones appear overnight, spontaneously arranging themselves? Or was it just a case of none of the six travellers taking note of their surrounds?

Steemit’s New Economic Paradigm

An introduction to Steemit

I (Kurt) have been posting on the new social media platform, Steemit, for more than a month, and it seems to be promising for several reasons.

One of the most obvious is that, people can get money on there, which means that many starving artists and writers finally have a platform where they can quickly monetise their content, without having to know too much about website design, sales or marketing.

A deeper point – one which will most likely drive the more constant growth of the platform – is that the system is structured to incentivise helpful, constructive interactions. The system is designed to encourage people to be cool. That’s no small feat. I’ve thought in the past, that if someone really wants to change the world, they have to change the incentives, and that exactly what is what the creators of this site have done.

Since joining, I’ve had to stop myself a few times on other social networks, thinking “Is this the way I would phrase this if I were writing on Steemit? Can I find a way to be softer, more compassionate, more inclusive?” Of course, some people persist in unconstructive feedback, even despite themselves, but the signal-to-noise ratio on the site is still extremely impressive.

In this video, I give an introduction to why this new platform is interesting and may be the way of the future, and I read out an article which I published on the platform, which many people enjoyed, talking about what makes the site and its associated currency, Steem, valuable, and the reasons it may well succeed in the long run.

Peyote Spaceship: Contact With An Alien Intelligence – Part 1 – Episode 118

The Story – Contact With An Alien Intelligence:

In this episode we discuss an event which Kurt experienced while on The Paradise Paradox desert-peyote adventure. This event may be considered as ‘contact’ – where Kurt describes a communication with an alien intelligence.

Here we have part 1 of a 2 part episode, where we discuss several important ideas to think about when considering that we may not be alone in this universe. Standing amongst the vastness of the desert and witnessing the endless stars above, one is left feeling very small, and it was hard to believe that we are the only ones here. Under the influence of peyote and feeling the presence of life all around you in every direction – it became very obvious that we were not.

Assuming that we are not alone, and assuming that we are quite primitive in comparison to other intelligent life, would an alien intelligence even notice us, or be bothered to contact us. Or better, how would they choose to make contact? How would they say, “hello”?

Returning to early communication methods, almost seems silly. However, a European on a hill doesn’t expect communication from a foreign race to come from a smoke signal. Radio waves could be equally unexpected to an extraterrestrial civilisation. And a lost human in the desert doesn’t expect communication from alien life to come from manipulation of light, or manipulation of time. But, perhaps, this is exactly how interdimensional life would need to communication, via manipulation of energy with no shared material, then of course we must consider communication through hallucinations caused by psychedelic medicine.

The Story:

For centuries, millenia, or perhaps since there was no time, people have been taking journeys out into the desert of Mexico to take the sacred medicine known as “peyote”.

If you’re willing to go out into the desert and take the adventure of a lifetime, as the sun starts to go down, you might start to see the shadows of spirits stretching out from the horizon – fallen Aztec warriors, and forgotten kings and queens still sitting on their thrones, perhaps not knowing their empires are now long gone. Who is waiting out there to meet you? Will you have the courage to say “Hello”?

In this episode we describe an adventure we took out into the desert of San Luis Potosí, to stretch the boundaries of our minds. We hope you’ll join us on a brain-bending journey on this episode of The Paradise Paradox!

The Story:

In this episode Kurt and I are at the central bus station of Guadalajara, Mexico. We were patiently waiting to begin our voyage to San Luis Potosi – for a great adventure exploring the worlds of natural medicine. This episode is a captured conversation started by few Aussie friends that visited the week before, they had some very interesting questions about today’s society.

Many young adults ask questions like, why does the government need to privatise public services? examples of these services may be medical, electricity, transport, and water? and of course the bloody roads. These concerns are based on the already poor quality services at high tax costs and this instills a negative outlook on the future. To further this issue, it is widely known and understood that private companies, which buy these services, must put the interests of shareholders first. This is because of the inherent nature of business and the human component rarely becomes a concern, let alone a priority.
Our society has been conditioned to believe that this is all part of capitalism, MacDonalds, Starbucks and greedy governments. History can teach us many lessons and like all power structures, there is a common natural evolution; to increase in size, centralise power and incubate corruption. However as most young folks attended public schooling they tend to have a shallow and selected view of history, they look to the other side as the solution – Socialism.

In this episode we discuss a true capitalism, which is based on a free market system powered by sound money (Gold, Silver, Bitcoin). Advancements in information technology is opening a new world of commerce as well as new options for governance. Where all people can have an equal say and can be involved in shaping society. Our future civilisations will be empowered and united, government as we know it today will be a memory and a laugh, somewhat like the stone age. For the meantime understand that today’s government bodies do not require our full attention, as these structures are on limited time and out of gas.
