The other thing I was going to
include in my rant was, well, go easy on
yourself. Don’t be so hard like – nobody comes into this life with
a manual or a guidebook. We don’t
know exactly what we’re doing you know
If we get lucky we have somebody
who gives us a few little words of
advice. But the thing is, we’re going to
make mistakes and we make these small
mistakes or big mistakes and these small
mistakes which which seem like huge
mistakes from our perspective. But when
we do something right – and it doesn’t
even have to be completely right it can
just be – you know – just, just a
small thing that we do right, it is a
miracle. It is amazing. You know against
all odds that we that we do something
good for others. So that’s that’s all I wanted to say.
In late 2013, the price of Bitcoin started exploding, going from around $120, to close to $1200, within 3 months. People in the digital currency realm were stunned and amazed, and many people (including myself) started buying up currencies, chasing the Bitcoin bullet train. “This time it’s different,” we thought. “Who knows if the price will ever come down?” we thought. A few months later, the price came rolling down, eventually settling around $450. A lot of people surely lost a lot of money in those months, buying high and selling low. That was when I learned a simple lesson: the best time to buy an asset is when nobody gives a shit about it.
Now it’s June 2017, and in the past three months we’ve seen Bitcoin shoot up from around $1000 to more than $2500 – even to $3000 in some markets. I see people on social media boasting about their winnings, parading the fact that they have assets worth hacking. I tell them to be careful, that trading at all time highs can be a recipe for disaster. They tell me “The dollar is crashing against crypto!” and “This time it’s different!” I know some will probably lose a lot when the bull market ends, still believing that they’re digital currency genii and know how to pick winners. Others will prudently and consistently take profits, and wait for another opportunity to buy big.
In this episode, I welcome back Luis Fernando Mises, business consultant, entrepreneur, spiritual healer and digital currency investor, to discuss the latest rise in Bitcoin and altcoins, and what pitfalls people should look out for. We talk about ease of use in virtual currency, potential problems with Bitcoin, and spiritual perspectives to be gained when you lose a lot of money. We also discuss the problems with gossip in the liberty movement, how many are focused on the “telenovela” of liberty, and how that energy can be directed into something more fulfilling.

For a lot of writers and other creative people, it’s common to wake up with a clear purpose of creating something, yet somehow by 10pm, you’ll always hear them mumble under their breath “shit!” They got distracted by work, taking care of bills and other day-to-day nonsense – so much that they didn’t write a word or scribble a drawing towards their project. Perhaps it’s always goes that way because so many people make their job a priority, when they should be making their work a priority – staying in the office 40 or 50 hours a week when their magnum opus gets a mere half hour.
If you have a project which is really important to you, you should find a way to make time for it. If you can’t, then perhaps you need to re-organise your life so that project is at the forefront. You could start working part time, start working for yourself so you can set your own schedule, or even expatriate and live in a country where a minimum amount of dollars allows you to live comfortably.

There’s one huge debate of recent years which almost nobody in the world saw coming – the debate over the shape of the earth. Flat-earthers insist that there is something fishy going on when it comes to NASA photographs and footage from other space agencies – perhaps even a conspiracy spread all over the world to prevent us knowing the true shape of the earth, dating back hundreds of years, including members of the Freemasons such as Isaac Newton, inventing brilliant lies that have confused people for generations. Even today, millions of people are confused – some are confused because of the bizarre information about the earth being flat, and others are confused because they don’t understand how anyone could believe such a thing.
The debate rages on in image boards, message boards and Facebook groups, and it seems to be no closer to reaching a conclusion. Part of the problem is, many people are have been raised believing that the earth is a globe – but never had cause to question it, or find ways to prove it. So, when the flat-earthers came along and started obsessing over it, researching for hours a day and questioning it, globe-earthers were completely intellectually unprepared. Unless you’re a physicist or have an extremely quick wit, when someone asks you to defend a belief that you’ve never had to defend… your arguments are going to be shit.
In this episode, Kurt looks at some of the arguments that come up on both sides of the debate, and why many of the common ones are easily dismissed. He also explains the best evidence he has seen so far that the earth is curved, and perhaps even spheroidal.
